When to Help a Friend in Need

We’ve all known them.  We’ve all seen their pain, anguish, and perhaps anger.  Sometimes, though, it’s difficult to know when to help a friend in need.  Watching for the warning signs is key.  If you have a friend or family member who has experienced deep pain in their lives, it’s very likely that they could use your love, prayer and support.  They won’t often admit it, and they’re even less likely to ask for it, though.

Asking for prayer can be hard and sometimes embarrassing.  That’s why you need to watch for when someone is truly desperate for help.  People in need of prayer isolate themselves, deviate from their normal behavior, and lack a sense of positivity.  They may feel extremely sad and what they really need is love, companionship, and support.

One of the main reasons that we made the Christian Prayer Center is that we believe in organizing people on the internet with the goal of helping people in their lives.  Prayer support, even from thousands of strangers can go a very long way.  Knowing that you are on a strong prayer chain, that people care about you, that people can read about your problems – this is something that makes people feel better.  God hears our prayers when our prayer requests are heard by many of his Christian warriors.

This isn’t a complicated message, but it’s an important one.  If you notice one of your loved ones in pain – pray for them.  Post a prayer request for them, show them comfort and support.  Let them know that you care and that they are not alone.  Sometimes these are the most important things someone can receive during a time of grief or pain.   God Bless.

The Strength of Online Prayer Requests

Online prayer groups, such as the Christian Prayer Center, provide a very valuable resource to those seeking support.  Through online posting of prayer requests and archiving of prayer requests for thousands of Christians to see, people can drastically increase the power that their prayers have.  Under normal circumstances, a prayer would be said by oneself, or perhaps with a slightly larger audience, such as a dinner table.  It would be rare that more than several people would pray for someone in this case.  Using a church prayer list might fetch dozens of people, which ishumancross certainly better than just one.

It is when we are able to collect the powerful prayers from thousands of Christians from all over the world that our prayers gain true strength. In addition to all the caring and praying eyes that our prayers receive, we feel better since we can get support from others who are there to help. We can read about others in need and find comfort through commiserating with their circumstances. As Christians, we are taught to give as well as receive.

Amen, and God Bless all those Christians that stand in support for this new technology that God has blessed us with. As with all technologies, they aren’t often well received by everyone, but we feel that online prayer requests are the future and we’re happy to stand in their defense.

Prayers for Healing

Do you need a prayer for healing?  When all is lost, it is often prayer that can be most effective.  God can provide healing of many forms – financial, physical, emotional, and relationship healing.  Prayer can mend the tears that come with time and circumstance, and bring us closer to the Lord.  When we believe with all our hearts in the power of worship and the words of the Bible, the Lord blesses us.

“My children, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh.” Proverbs 4:20-22

Kneeling before God shows the ultimate trust in his abilities, and pleads for His mercy.  If you suffer in silence or let your neighbor suffer in silence, God will not know if you need help.  prayer for healingWhen He is summoned, he is there to help and to heal your wounds.  Emotional scarring, financial indebtedness, relationships that seem beyond repair.  This is God’s arena!  No challenge is too large for Him.

In the story of Job in the bible, the Lord shows us the ultimate suffering in man.  He shows us that the world can bring terrible atrocities to one’s life.  He also shows us that with faith and prayers for healing, we can get better.  We can form new lives, we can recover from our injuries, we can cast off bad relationships and replace them with good ones.  Ask for the strength to believe and rely on worship.  Give it a try, you’ll be pleased at how well it works.

Focus and Concentration in Prayer Requests

A prayer is only good if we are asking for the right things. If we have shown generosity, commitment, group agreement, and cleared our heart of ill feelings, it would be a shame if we prayed for the wrong things. That is why having focus and concentration is a decisive step towards receiving God’s miracles. It is essential that as Christians, we spend some time on our own to prioritize our needs. In time, God will provide everything that we need, but we have to send Him concise signals as to what our gravest needs are. Just as a child often makes the mistake of asking his parents for an entire catalog of gifts, we must not make the same mistake when asking God for blessings. Use focus and concentration to narrow down on the most immediate priorities in your life.

As a human, it is said that our needs begin with the physiological. These include our basic human actions of breathing, eating, having water to drink, and having a place to sleep at night. For this reason, I recommend that all prayers should first be used to gather these basic physiological necessities. If you are without food, or your children do not have a bed to lay their head on, it is these needs that we must pray for first. God will not grant us a Mercedes Benz before making sure that our children have enough to eat. relationship prayers

The second bracket of needs that you should assess are in regards to your safety. Is your home safe? Is your morality in tact? Are you as healthy as you could be? The safety and health of you and your loved ones is second on the list to assess. If you are able to sleep, but your house is in an area of high crime, for example, it would be logical to pray for a better house, or the resources to provide security for your family. If you are sick, be sure to pray for healing before anything else. Winning the lottery or gaining a large inheritance will do no good to you if you have an incurable disease.

If you can safely say that you have these first two groups of needs covered, you can consider yourself blessed. On the third level of human needs, it is recommended that you take a look at your social interactions. Are your friendships fulfilling to you? Do you have healthy relationships with your children, brothers, sisters, cousins, and parents? Do you have sexual intimacy with someone you truly love? If you find weaknesses in these areas, you can pray for a loving Christian partner, marriage restoration, or healing in other relationships.  To help with these, you may post prayer requests for relationships.

Go out, concentrate, assess your needs, prioritize, and look for signs that God is blessing you and showing you His plan. For that is God’s will, and will lead you to success in your prayers.

Prayer For Youth – Children Need Prayer

As adults, it’s easy to remember our best times as children.  These were carefree times of our lives that we did not have to worry about feeding our family or the health concerns that come with aging.  Let us not forget that childhood is a very difficult time.  In addition to the stresses and anxiety that kids carry with them on a daily basis, there are special cases where children may live in toxic households.  Their parents may fight, they may only have one parent, or perhaps they live in an abusive home.

While we pray to God for our adult issues, let’s be thankful that there is also a place out there that let’s us say a prayer for teenagers and other children.  This is a great website that helps Christians gather in prayer for the young ones that need it most.  God Bless.

Christian Prayer Center

The Christian Prayer Center stands for honesty and integrity, and facilitates the gathering of thousands of faithful prayer warriors in support of those who need prayer.  If you are in need of prayer for healing, relationship renewal, or a fresh start with your financial situation, you are encouraged to post a prayer request.

If you have extra time, and would like to help others, we encourage you to read through the prayer requests posted on the site, and take the effort to pray for those who need your support.  When Christians put their thoughts and concentration towards the needs of strangers, we can accomplish anything.  God hears our petitions to him, and he answers them by showering us with miracle blessings.  This is, when we have complete and total, faith.

God Bless you all, and thanks so much for your support.  When the Lord hears us, there is no end to the good that can be done.

Does Giving Affect Prayer Request Effectiveness?

“One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want. Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.”
Proverbs 11:24-25

There is another great reason why God blesses those who give freely versus those that withhold what they should give. Generosity does not just take the form of giving to God’s work, but it also includes the giving we do to our friends, family, and neighbors. God wants us to be benevolent in all aspects of our life. When he sees that we help other people freely, he can comfortably give us blessings of finances in our lives, since He knows that we will be fair stewards to distribute what we have been granted. If God were to give financial blessings to people who never gave freely, God would not be serving all His children. Stinginess in God’s eyes is a terrible trait, and one that He never rewards with financial miracles. This is strategic, though. If He were to give to those who never gave, His work would not be fulfilled.

Giving needs to be done on a regular basis, and seeds planted in all manner of places. Just like a real garden, crops cannot grow unless you plant seeds in the soil. If you plant a single small seed, it will take time to grow, and its fruit will not be bountiful. If you plant an acre of seeds in rich soil, your harvest will be enough to feed many families. You will have so much leftover that you can preserve your crop, store it, and share it. This is God’s will, and one of the ways He gives us to differentiate our faith from the faith of others. Goodness of heart, and selflessness are qualities that allow God to create a blessed society as a whole, instead of several individuals who seem to have everything.

The Potential of Faithful Christian Prayer

“Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”

James 5:13-16

Prayer is one of God’s many great gifts to us. Through prayer, we can ask God to provide us with anything we may desire. We can use prayer to ensure that all our essential needs will be met and that we can spend our time in this life in happiness and fulfillment. Receiving these miracles through prayer requires an understanding of the principles we have discussed. The most essential basis for prayer and the rewards that God grants us is seated in His teachings. We must remember that our time on earth is merely preparation for a higher purpose. The struggles and hardships we face are meant as training exercises. They teach us lessons to help us grow spiritually, and they test our achievements. Like successful students, we are rewarded for our spiritual development and we we are guided to new challenges to strengthen our souls. The faster we learn the principles behind successful prayer, the sooner we can begin to enjoy the bounty of God’s grace.

If you are like most people who are just beginning to realize the full potential of prayer, my advice is to start gradually. Begin with a simple request and put yourself into it wholeheartedly. Find ways to galvanize your faith both before, during, and after your campaign of prayer. Be persistent, even in the most basic of requests. To pray for a single molecule of oxygen demands just as much a miracle as a prayer for vast riches. In God’s eyes, neither of those requests is more difficult to fulfill than the other. We just need to show Him that we are following in His path and are deserving of His blessings. Be persistent in your requests. It is not that God does not hear you, it is that He needs to see how steadfast you are in your need and reliance on Him. Find ways to extend your generosity to others. We are never alone in this world, and the Bible repeatedly tells us to share our good fortune with others. Seek out agreement. This is a concept that often goes hand in hand with the other principles of prayer. We need the power of many voices standing beside us. It is through this solidarity that our resolve shines brightest. Be ever vigilant in your commitment to the Lord, to all that is good and holy, and remain focused on the path before you. As you begin to master the fundamentals of prayer, a whole new world of miracles will be unlocked for you. Glory be to God!

Does Greater Love Beget Greater Success in Prayer?

“For, dear brothers, you have been given freedom: not freedom to do wrong, but freedom to love and serve each other. For the whole Law can be summed up in this one command: “Love others as you love yourself.” But if instead of showing love among yourselves you are always critical and catty, watch out! Beware of ruining each other.”

Galatians 5:13-15

God placed us on Earth with many freedoms and opportunities. In his many natural processes that he has laid down, he has given us hints and commandments about how to best live. In exchange for our obedience, He blesses us richly with his miracles. One of the most important freedoms that he has given us, is the freedom to love others as we love ourselves. He has given us the option to forgive our enemies instead of gaining revenge. God has lead us to be cooperative and not competitive, to be nice to others, instead of being mean to them. When we are good to others, God sees this, and wants to bless us for our efforts.

Faith and Christianity

His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ ” Matthew 25:21

Although faith and Christianity are of the heart, it often behooves us to think about them logically. As Christians, we often ask ourselves many questions regarding our situation, and the situation of others. Why has God not blessed me with a son? Why can I never get rich? Why can I never lose all of this weight? These are not bad questions, but I urge you to think about these same questions in another light. What have I done to deserve such a wonderful daughter? Why has God chosen to bless me with a job that allows me to feed my family? Why has God never chosen to give me cancer? God's Blue Sky

It seems silly to question why bad things have not happened to us, but that level of reasoning is an important step to realizing why God blesses us when He does. God often blesses us incrementally. When we show consistent generosity, He blesses us with children, jobs, and health. Everything is on a scale, though, including our own generosity. In Matthew 25:21, we are being shown that small faith is rewarded with small blessings, medium faith is rewarded with medium blessings, and a grand faith and generosity over many years is rewarded with vast riches and abundance beyond our wildest dreams. God is comfortable granting us these miraculous blessings since He has now seen our generosity that has been shown steadily and bountifully. As you increase your giving, and lengthen your track record of benevolence, God will reward you, but not directly. Watch for signs, and remember that he who knows how to give freely will certainly learn how to receive freely as well.
