This situation should not have affected me the way it did... Normally I can muscle through difficult situations with no issues. Through some special circumstances about a year and a half ago, I met someone who I completely fell for, everything about her and the way we met was special. It was very short lived (i.e. a couple months) but for some reason she had more impact on me than anything has in the last 10 years or so. She started dating another guy, which happens, but she basically just stopped talking to me one day without explanation. It's been very difficult because I'm constantly reminded of her because of some VERY common people in both of our lives, and she's (not intentionally) continued to break my heart by acting like I don't exist... I'm very close with her family, who I met a couple years before her.
Although I'm sure this sounds like a pretty standard story of a break-up and a guy who is having trouble moving on, this situation has gotten way out of hand for me and has basically made my life miserable for the last 18 months. I work with and am close friends with one of her family members, and because of this my work life has become completely miserable. I've had to get on anti-depressants, and I'm just generally unhappy. I've tried to move on by dating several really nice girls since then, but I just can't find anyone I feel strongly about. I genuinely hope that this girl comes back into my life, but it's been 18 months... I just want to be happy again, whether it means I move on (which I have tried to do desparately), or if I get another chance with her, or meet someone else. Of course, I want more than anything to have another chance with her, but we can't always have what we want, so all I'm asking is for God to help me through this and have this situation come kind of a close in my mind. Please pray for me
