Prayer Request: Troubled 19 year old college student

Our 19 year old college student seems to have extremely changed from the responsible, conservative, Christian, moral, reliable, trustworthy, person of character and integrity that he was known to be. He seems to be on the wrong path. He's become very angry and disrespectful towards his family. He has not been truthful. We understand that this process of "individuation" (from child to adult child) is very common and "normal" during the first year of college - students do change and take risks, yet after a year of trying to give him distance to "grow" and offer the appropriate amount of support and parental guidance - a year has gone by and we remain very concerned that he is still off track and unable to achieve his academic and personal goals. During his first year of college, we had hope because he had joined a Christian group at his college and now he's abandoned these friends. We feel that he's engaged in immoral activity, is under the influence of very immoral people and he's had difficulty with dealing with anger issues. His behavior around us and his siblings this past summer was disrespectful and intolerable and he acted out. We are trying to incorporate "tough love" - yet we don't feel that our efforts thus far, are really getting results. This son has created a great deal of strain between his parents because the mother's instinct had been leaning towards this potential and she had tried to tell the father, yet the father didn't enforce their family rules and expectations. The mother feels that some of this could have been avoided if the father had listened to her and had they imposed specific rules,boundaries and expectations before this son went away to college. This son's twin brother went to seek counsel from his youth pastor because he was hurt by the "path" that his twin had taken and he told the pastor that he felt the parents had not been strong and stepped up to his brother over the last few years. The pastor told the twin that the parents did nothing wrong - it's something within his twin.

We are asking for prayer that he will receive strenth and guidance to see where he is now and where he needs to be. We are asking for prayer to protect him, yet also protect us and give us strength to continue to try to help him get on track and seek appropriate help and counsel.
